We welcome any older person to Sparkle, provided they can attend independently or with a carer. Pre-registration is required and a code of conduct will need to be signed.
Join us a a Volunteer
We are always looking for lovely people to join our volunteering team of ‘sparklers’!
Souping Volunteer
This team meets fortnightly on a Tuesday morning to batch cook soup for our Grandfriends to eat at lunch. This is done in a professional kitchen, but no cooking experience is needed. Souping volunteers need to be over 15 and no DBS is required.
Sessional Volunteer
This role involves coming to our sessions, supporting the activities, chatting with Grandfriends and setting up/clearing lunch. Volunteers need to be over 18 and a DBS check will be conducted.
Duke of Edinburgh Volunteer
Duke of Edinburgh volunteers bake cakes for our Grandfriends to eat as dessert at lunch. Bakes can be delivered locally the day before a session. Students are warmly invited to join our sessions in the school holidays

We are looking for new places to start intergenerational community centres. If you are a church, school or community hub and would be keen to explore opening a ‘Sparkle’ please get in touch. We can offer:
